Here are some shots of one of the Ultrasylvania covers, that I began working on the other day. It was great to get back into oil paint, it feels like ages since I touched it last. I almost forgot how relaxing and meditative I find it. enjoy!

Here are some character designs I have done lately for the collaborative comic class. Its been alot of fun so far.

2.27.12 Interiors

Having some fun tonight painting some interiors! Designs of some castle rooms for a really exciting group comic project I am working on in school at the moment. these are just quick value studies... still alot of work to go. Also some space suit designs I am playing around with. I was trying to do it with line rather than value, which proved to be more of a challenge than I thought :) more to come!

12.2.12 Watercolor!

Been trying my hand at some watercolor lately, which is teaching me some new disciplines :) Spent some time painting at Stinson beach and around the golden gate which was challenging but also very relaxing. Pretty happy with the results for my first time, but I have alot to learn! and also a valentines day card for fun :)

Hi all... its been a little bit since my last post, been pretty busy lately. Here are some set designs for an unannounced group project I am currently working on. Had alot of fun with these, I havent dont alot of environment work, but I am working on doing more and improving my perspective sketching. There will be more and some characters to come!!!

Some character renders, I added some falling debree in both the images to add dramatic effect, but im not sure if it helps or just takes away from the read of the design. Might re assess tomorrow.

28.1.12 some characters

Spent this evening finishing up some character sheets I started last week, and the heads were almost all done tonight. Also watch/listened to my first Massive Black tutorial tonight Jason Chan doing villians, it was really helpful having it playing while I was rendering the characters as he talked about the importance of readability within a design.

now time for bed :)

Some friends and I were having some fun, designing a Joan of Arc character a couple of months back, and so I am re attacking it at the moment for some portfolio pieces. Both works in progress at the moment, comments and critic welcome :)

18.2.12 Color!

A qucik study of a photo I took of a great San Francisco sunset a week or so ago, and paint over of a sketchbook sketch. Was concentrating on color and tone with the cowboy,  pretty happy with how its coming along, so ill try and work it more tonight! both done with round brushes. enjoy!

15.1.12 Studies

Something I have been meaning to do more of, some digital studies from films. Here are a couple from Indiana Jones. It was alot of fun, I was mainly trying to focus on the tone and colour and experiment with what I could do with a couple of brushes :)

14.1.12 im back!

It has been a while! I have been doing a little bit of travelling around the US so now im back and ready to get back to work! I hope everyone had a great christmas and new year.
